Villajoyosa

Located about 14 kilometres from Benidorm, the pretty town of Villajoyosa boasts 3 kilometres of golden sand beaches backed by colourful little fishing cottages. Ideally situated just a short drive from Alicante International Airport, the town offers visitors a good selection of amenities, activities and the chance to explore some of the best attractions the beautiful Costa Blanca has to offer.

Wondering around the town, visitors can enjoy a variety of shops, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants. There is the local market enticing passers by with a selection of fresh produce, leather goods, clothing, accessories, arts & crafts, souvenirs and household goods. Villajoyosa’s beaches have good facilities and visitors can enjoy a number of water sports or just relax and soak up the sun. Among the town’s popular attractions is its Gothic Church of Assumption and yearly Festival of Moors and Christians, although the most popular attraction is its chocolate. Its famous chocolate making industry gives the town’s economy a welcome boost and its chocolate brand, Valor can be found in shops throughout Spain. The Valor chocolate factory offers visitors free tours where you can also sample some of their delights.

Less than an hour’s drive from Villajoyosa there are some excellent days out to be had, such as a visit to the large city of Alicante for some retail therapy or Benidorm City for lively night life including the famous Benidorm Palace that thrills guests with fabulous cabaret shows and international music artists and bands. For stunning nature, the nearby Guadalest Valley and Algar Waterfalls are among the most popular tourist attractions in Spain.
