L’Alfás del Pi
Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Helada, the picturesque town of L’Alfás del Pi is a popular holiday and residential destination for Scandinavians and has the highest number of Norwegian speakers in the world outside of Norway. Although the town boasts historical monuments such as the Catholic church of Crist del Bon Encert, and some pretty parks and plazas, it is the laid back lifestyle and splendid beaches that attract most visitors and foreign residents.
Lined by a pleasant promenade, the town’s main beach is great for visitors with small children as it is made up of soft sand and the sea is relatively calm, ideal for paddling. South of the main beach you will find a nudist beach, information on the three nudist beaches in L’Alfàs del Pi. The huge rock called Peñon de Ifach that is the focal point of nearby Calpe, is clearly visible from the beach area. For one of the most stunning views in Spain, Guadalest Valley and its mountaintop village and castle are a must see. Located less than a 30 minute drive from L’Alfás del Pi, a visit to Guadalest can be coupled with a trip to the nearby Algar waterfalls, where even in the summer months its waters are ice cold and provide for a very refreshing swim.
There are a selection of bars and restaurants in L’Alfás del Pi where visitors can enjoy a night out and sample some of the delicious fish and seafood of the region. If the town’s night life is not lively enough for you, the party city of Benidorm is less than a 15 minute drive and boasts night time entertainment galore, as well as exciting day time activities to one of its huge adventure or water parks. The area is home to a choice of golf courses, and for nature enthusiasts the Parque Natural de Sierra Gelada is criss crossed with hiking trails among its interesting array of flora & fauna.
